Alex Priestley is a writer / director from Cardiff whose work spans narrative films, music videos and commercial work. His filmmaking career began with Chant, a comedy short co-written with actor Sam C. Wilson (Masters of the Universe), which won the Audience Choice Award at Cardiff Mini Film Festival. He subsequently directed a BBC-backed comedy short and a series of music videos, with his work featured by The Guardian, Vice, Noisey, NME and MTV.

In 2023, his short film Bad Soil won Best Short Film Made in Wales at Carmarthen Bay Film Festival. Alongside his film career, Alex has co-founded two successful businesses: Cardifferent Clothing, an independent streetwear brand, and Blue Palm Apartments, a serviced-accommodation company serving the South Wales media industry, which he sold in 2026.
